Session 4.1: The future of market-based renewables: Lessons learned from Alberta

Over the past two years, over 1,200 MW of new renewable-energy projects have been formally announced in Alberta, resulting in billions of dollars of investments. This is a result of the provincial government’s commitment to “market-based renewables,” which provides projects with access to both the energy market and carbon markets. This panel will explore what is driving this boom and what is needed to keep it moving.
