Plenary Lunch: 100% Clean Electricity by 2035: The Clean Power Pathways project preview

November 18, 2021 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
Hall F

This session offers a preview of the Clean Power Pathways final report and analysis, to be launched in early 2022. This multi-year collaboration between the David Suzuki Foundation and university research partners connects decarbonization modelling with policy solutions and stakeholder engagement at the municipal, provincial and national levels. It aims to explore approaches to achieving 100% clean electricity across Canada by 2035, which will enable the broader decarbonization of the Canadian economy.

The authors of the Clean Power Pathways report will present the results from a suite of near-final modelling runs and discuss the implications for the deployment of renewables, transmission and storage. They will also highlight companion analysis on Indigenous rights frameworks, a just transition for workers and communities, and the governance and regulatory changes that would make this transformation possible.
