As Managing Director of Canada & US Development for Northland Power, Michelle is responsible for all aspects of business development in order to establish and grow the company’s portfolio of clean and green energy projects in Canada & the US.
Michelle’s previous positions include Country Manager for SunEdison Canada, Vice President of Business Development for GDF SUEZ Canada and Vice President, Solar Group with SkyPower Corp where Michelle led the team that developed Canada’s first fully operation solar Farm, ‘First Light’, a 9 MW solar Photovoltaic facility in Ontario. With a background in telecommunications, Michelle was involved in the launch of an innovative wireless technology project along with a variety of other programs with Primus Telecom from 1999 until late 2004.
Michelle Chislett is the current Chair of the Canadian Renewable Energy Association (CanREA), past board member of the Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA) and Marine Renewables Canada (MRC), past-Chair of the Board of the Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA), and member of the Dean’s Advisory Council of Western Engineering (ACWE).
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
