Session 1.1: The road to net zero by 2050: Opportunities for electrification in Canada

November 17, 2021 10:00 am - 10:45 am
Room 718

Canada has an incredible renewable resource base, representing a privileged and unique opportunity to decarbonize our economy and meet our net zero ambitions through electrification. More than 80% of our electricity already comes from non-GHG-emitting sources; governments and corporations are starting to take initial steps towards the electrification of transportation, buildings and industry. This session will explore policy options and opportunities to support electrification across Canada’s economy.

Moderator: Brandy Giannetta, Vice-President, Policy, Regulatory and Government Affairs, CanREA

Panellists:
Anna Kanduth, Research Associate, Canadian Institute for Climate Choices
Daniel Breton, President and CEO, Electric Mobility Canada
